To BC:

Playing Texas twice, USC twice, UCLA, and Washington this decade isn’t weak out of conference opponents.

Also in bowls

Beat Kansas State (Fiesta)
Beat Miami (Fiesta)
Beat Oklahoma State (Alamo)
Beat Notre Dame (Fiesta)

Anyway I would say USC or LSU for best team of the decade, with OU and OSU just below.

LSU owns wins in BCS title games over both OU & OSU. 4 SEC Championship game apperances with 3 SEC titles. 4-0 in BCS bowl games. 2 National Championships. Also handed Miami their worst ever bowl defeat 40-3. Only other school that can measure up is SC. OSU & OU are a tier below.

OU all the way. Ohio has no conference and plus the STINK! USC is just a flat out cheater and ever since there heisman QB left there not so great. Even though I dislike this team I think LSU is tied with OU in the lead they both are doing good. But still Boomer Sooner baby Yoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think D-Train is on to something. Seriously… Its always a deeper issue, right? I think key #7 should be a mediocre conference. Let’s be honest — its pretty obvious that the SEC is, hands down, the best conference in the country.

This is why a LSU or Georgia doesn’t get put up there with teams like USC or OU. Take the past couple of seasons — everybody in the SEC beats everybody else in the SEC because the conference is FULL of strong teams! Move any of these top SEC teams to a lesser conference and they automatically look much better.

I am surprised no one has brought up Georgia. Maybe we should consider them a distant fourth.

However, I can see where LSU could get some votes- two national championships the last four years. The problem is the years 2000-2003. They were top ten but not top five.
