Glad you enjoyed the race. I live in Indianapolis and I would rather watch paint dry than go to the race (please don’t tell anyone here!). I think if I were ever to get into it it would be because of some of the reasons you mentioned – the shared interest and fun with other fans.

Interestingly though, the benefits you mentioned for race fans hold some interesting lessons for church leaders. I never thought I would say this but we could probably use learn some lessons from NASCAR.

What you wrote puts NASCAR more into persepective to me.
