Ed Stetzer challenge- "my blog is tired"
September 11th, 2008 in Uncategorized. 7 Comments
So I am talking with Ed Stetzer yesterday about Catalyst- his research he is releasing at the event, his quick presentation on the main stage of this research, and his lab session on Wednesday afternoon.
During our conversation he busts my chops about my blog being tired, which in many ways I agree with. Plus, as I find out today, he is twittering while we are talking- so all 10 million of the people who follow him on twitter now think my blog is tired…… thanks for the encouragement Ed!
So, the challenge: PLEASE help me upgrade my blog. New design, new name, and other innovative ideas.
Designers? Innovators? Help! What do you think?

not for nothing, but I don’t think it’s tired. I only click through my RSS reader for commenting purposes – the layout, IMHO, is a lot less important than the content – you have great content . . . keep up the good blogging!

Brad,
I have to agree with Travis…your content is smokin’ and THAT is why I read your BLOG, BUT I would say that your “layout” is tired.
In my very humble opinion, trash the white background…would you live in a house and keep the white walls the builder painted? I think not. You have much more style than that and your page should too.
Change up some of the font styles. Your text on each side of the page looks like the text in the middle AND each section looks like the section above…Again, you are much more than plain-jane, all-the-same font.
Lastly, use some sort of program to switch up your pics on the right side of the page automatically each day. I have to admit I get tired of looking at the same pics day in and day out…AND by NOT changing them up it looks like you aren’t doing anything new…folks who don’t read everyday look at your page and think you aren’t paying attention to your own BLOG…so why should they.
But, let me re-emphasis how much I love what you write and enjoy living experiences through you. My walk and my faith grow as I read about men like yourself who are living and working each and every day for Him.
I am blessed by your BLOG, and hey, every part of us (BLOGs included)is a work in progress. There is no standing still, only forward and backward.
I look forward to moving forward with you. God bless.

I’ll hook you up. Drop me a line with your number and I’ll give you a call to let you know what we can do for you. We already talked about it at WiBo, but it slipped through the cracks after the conference.

Brad, I’d admit that for someone as innovative as you are, I’d expect a blog that would blow me away… but these days content overrules asthetics. As far as Ed Stetzer goes, I’d say his blog was just as tired prior to his new overhaul.
… and for help I’d take Scott Magdaline up on his offer.
