Working on the speaker lineup for Catalyst in October of 2009 right now. A few big well known names we are working on, along with some new voices. Outside of the normal folks that everyone knows about, who would you like to hear from?

I would like others to hear about Eric Geiger, author of “Simple Church” and “Identity.”
God has done some awesome things through him and pastor Rick Blackwood in the city of Miami ( one of the most culturally diverse and unchurched places in the US). Our church has grown incredibly over the last couple of years. I’m pumped about what’s happening down here in this melting pot called Miami.
I love Catalyst, and I think it would be of great value for church planters and people in ministry to hear from him.

Francis Chan, Matt Chandler, Steven Furtick

I want to second (or third) Chan and Chandler. I’d love to hear from Louie Giglio again, too.

1. A full session with Chandler and Chan would be really good.
2. What about Ravi Zacharias? He’s excellent and already in Atlanta.
3. Clayton King can bring any house down.

I would love to see Jason Hayes in the labs. Jason is co-author with Ed Stetzer and Richie Stanley of Lost & Found and is an incredible speaker. He has great insights as to how we can connect the next generation to God through the church. He blogs at http://jasonhayes.typepad.com/.

How about something in the vein of the TED conference? The author of Made To Stick killed it a recent ministry leader gathering. Also, Renee Mauborne of Blue Ocean Strategy is quite good.

Malcolm Gladwell & Brian McLaren are a couple that come to mind…

francine rivers — the christian fiction author (redeeming love.) or steven curtis chapman, about adoption, his family’s journey, and hope.

it’d be awesome if chandler and furtick had longer sessions.

Assume you are meaning main stage and not labs? Maybe both?

Outside of the main ministry guys (Stanley, Criag G., more Furtick, etc)… maybe Mike Breaux, Gabe Lyons, Carey Nieuwhof – Orange Conf.

Business / Crossover Wise…

Maybe Donny Deutsch talking about unleashing “Big Ideas.”

Maybe Howard Schultz from Starbucks on how churches can become better “3rd Places”. Might be a little dated but could be neat to explore.

A good Innovation speaker that can touch on leading through innovation (I’m sure Ben knows some great resources here).

Dan and Chip Heath, authors of “Made to Stick,” would be good.

Oh yeah… as someone else said above…
Author of “Simple Church.” Great content. Not sure how he is as a speaker though.

Ori Brafman – Author of The Starfish and the Spider & Sway

Rob Bell – A return trip to Catalyst would be nice

Mike Breen – A European flare and representative of future church models

I second Jason Hayes as a lab speaker. You can never get enough Seth Godin either.

December 8, 2008 at 7:08 pm

Bill Hybels. Guy Kawaski (I know he is going west… but tell him to go east too). TD Jakes. Mike Huckabee.

These bear repeating: Rob Bell, Rick Warren, Francis Chan
